Look no further! The Redbridge Cycling Club has been based in this area since 1972 and  we welcome new members. We are now based and are working in partnership with Redbridge Cycling Centre at Hog Hill in Hainault

Well done to all the riders that turned up for the first club 25 mile TT on a cold Sunday 24th April.  The event was won by Rick Kemp with a time of 1:06:07, the Handicap was won by Vida Sutova with a H/cap time of 47:08. THE NEXT CLUB NIGHTS ARE
Tuesday 3rd May.  Social evening at North Weald Village Hall. 8.30 pm onward.
Monday 9th May. 19.30 Redbridge Cycling Centre. Group riding around the track 18.00 – 17.45 (for details see below under ‘Forthcoming Events), followed by club night at the Centre 8 pm – 10 pm.  8.15 – 9.45 pm.   -  Coffee, tea and cakes available.  

MONTHLY SATURDAY INTRODUCTORY RIDES
The next intro ride will recommence on Saturday 16th April 2016. 

Please meet at the centre for 9.15 sharp. Blackmore village for coffee and cake before returning back to the centre for 1pm, approx 25 miles.  Ensure you wear a hard shell helmet and have a reasonable level of fitness please.

Midweek rides on a Wednesday will recommence in April.
The category ride ( Bronze or Silver ) will be based on who turns up on the day and by how many. The Lead rider will decide on the day.  Rides will start at the Centre (hog hill) for 9am and off at 9.15am. Dates for commencement to be confirmed.

RAtherton2We have weekly Sunday Social Rides all year (leave 09.15 from Redbridge Cycling Centre) and a 40 mile Saturday morning Training ride  (leave 09.30 from Redbridge Cycling Centre).  Silver taster rides in the summer months for those bronze club riders wishing to progress to silver rides and occasional Wednesday rides.  NOTE. Any last minute changes to these rides (eg cancellations or changes in meeting times because of bad weather) will be posted up on the Redbridge Cycling Club Facebook page.  We have a comprehensive Club Time Trial programme providing events from early March to mid-October at varying distances. There is also a Mountain Bike Ride through Epping Forest every Saturday morning. (not 16th and 23rd April) We are also affiliated to British Cycling allowing you to compete in road races.

The Club promotes Social events and an Annual Dinner, Dance and Prize Presentations in February. Membership details can be found HERE! 

CLUB RIDESClick on ‘Club Rides’ for details of all Rides. There are Sunday social rides, Saturday training rides, occasional Silver ‘taster rides’ on Saturdays for those bronze riders wishing to progress to silver (look out for these rides here and on the club Facebook page), Wednesday rides. Most starting from Redbridge Cycling Centre. IMPORTANT.  Rides leave Redbridge Cycling Centre 09.00 for a 09.15 departure. This Sunday (8th May) .  Bronze ride and short silver ride  goes to Francesca’s Coffee Shop, Mountnessing.   Around 40 miles for the bronze, 45 – 50 miles for the short silver ride.  The long silver ride goes to the cafe at BHN Nurseries between East Hanningfield and Rettendon.  Long Silver ride around 65 miles. Average speed, Bronze 12 – 13 mph, long and short silver rides 14 – 15 mph.  Gold ride – 55 – 60 miles non-stop through the mid-Essex lanes.  Average gold ride speed 16 – 18 mph.

Saturday Morning Mountain Bike Rides in Epping Forest.   Meet at the north end of Buckhurst Hill High Street (A121) adjacent the cricket pitch, which if travelling north towards Loughton is on your left after passing the Hawsted turning and immediately before the road begins to drop down a fairly steep hill and two 40mph sign posts. (post code IG9 5SS). Parking available. Leave 9.00am sharp. 2 – 2 1/2 hours Steady riding mainly on bridle paths and tracks. No ‘mad downhilling’. All riders are expected to wear hard shell helmets. Ride leader Alan Flutter (new number - 07581 807027). Please contact him before hand if intending to join in the ride.
