Congratulations to Graham Rudd on winning the Hill Climb Championship on the 12th October 2014 at his first attempt with a time of 2 minutes 34 seconds. Full results on Time Trial Results page.


Look no further! The Redbridge Cycling Club has been based in this area since 1972 and  we welcome new members. We are now based and are working in partnership with Redbridge Cycling Centre at Hog Hill in Hainault.

Tuesday 4th November.  Club Social at North Weald Village Hall, 8.30pm onwards.
Monday 10th November . Redbridge Cycle Centre 6.30 – 7.30 Turbo Training (see below for details) followed by ‘Getting your summer bike ready for Winter Riding’  and ‘What to look for when buying a winter bike’. 8.00 pm – 10.00pm.

Saturday LADIES ONLY RIDE, 09.15 Saturday 8th November

TURBO TRAINING SESSIONS:  Every Monday evening October 20th –  December 15th.   6.30 – 7.30 pm.  Bring with you your own turbo trainer, two towels, waterproof sheet on which to place bike and turbo trainer, drink bottle. To get the most out of the turbo training we recommend your bike and turbo trainer is equipped with a cadence computer.   £3.00 per session. 
RAtherton2We have weekly Sunday Social Rides all year and a 40 mile Saturday morning Training ride. We have a comprehensive Club Time Trial programme providing events from early March to mid-October at varying distances. There is also a Mountain Bike Ride through Epping Forest every Saturday morning.

The Club promotes Social events and an Annual Dinner, Dance and Prize Presentations in February. Membership details can be found HERE!

Bronze Ride.  Short ride to the Bakehouse Café,  Cooksmill Green. (six miles west of Chelmsford on A414 next to the Fox and Goose pub) 40 miles.   Return RCC approx. 1.30pm
Silver Ride.  Long ride to the Bakehouse Café,  Cooksmill Green.(six miles west of Chelmsford on A414 next to the Fox and Goose Pub)  55miles.  Return RCC approx. 2.00 – 2.30 pm
Gold Ride..  50 miles non-stop.  Mid-Essex. Return RCC 12.15 – 12.30

Saturday Morning Mountain Bike Rides in Epping Forest
Meet at the north end of Buckhurst Hill High Street (A121) adjacent the cricket pitch, which if travelling north towards Loughton is on your left after passing the Hawsted turning and immediately before the road begins to drop down a fairly steep hill and two 40mph sign posts. (post code IG9 5SS). Parking available.
Leave 9.00am sharp. 2 – 2 1/2 hours Steady riding mainly on bridle paths and tracks. No ‘mad downhilling’. All riders are expected to wear hard shell helmets.

Forthcoming Events
Sunday 16th November. Club Speed Judging Competition.  A fun event. Start and finish Coxtie Green by the White Horse Public House.  See how close you get to your predicted speed over a course between 10 and 15 miles around Navestock.  GPS and speedometers will be removed from your bike prior to the start. Minimum predicted speed will be around 7 – 8 mph. Also, the organisers will trust that competitors won’t use the GPS on your smart phones! Start 11.00 am. with riders despatched at one minute intervals.  Sandwiches and prize presentation in the White Horse afterwards.   Please let Wendy Benson, our social secretary, if you require sandwiches.  Enter on the line. Organisers Paul O’Kelly and  Trevor Benson. Entrants will be given the route details five minutes before your start time.
Monday Evening 8th December.  Club Annual General Meeting.  Start 8.00 pm sharp at the Redbridge Cycling Centre.  Agendas will be sent out to the membership.
Sunday 14th December. Club Christmas Dinner at  the Green Man Toot Hill. Sit down 12.30 pm.  Exact cost not yet known but will be around £23.00. Partners and friends are very welcome.  Please let Wendy Benson know if you would like to attend ASAP. 
The Green Man pub will be on the route of all the club rides on the 14th December.  If you are cycling home after the event make sure you have lights on your bike.
