Welcome to the RCC forum

To keep the forum a friendly, positive and productive place for everybody, we ask that you follow a few simple rules.

Be friendly

In short: don’t say anything to forum members that you wouldn’t say to their face. Please avoid hateful speech, and don’t attack anybody on the basis of their race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, age or religion. We operate a 'no bickering' policy on the forum - any threads started with the intention of causing arguments, or that degenerate into childish bickering will be deleted.

Be constructive

Robust debate is fine, but please tolerate opinions that differ from your own, and maintain a reasonable tone in your posts. Also, try to keep to the theme of any threads you enter, so the forum remains useful to everybody.

Be considerate

Many people on the forum will have different experiences of cycling, and come here for help, advice and support. Make them welcome, be generous with your knowledge and don’t ridicule anybody for their lack of knowledge or experience.

Be honest

Please don’t pretend to be another forum member, or a public figure, or infringe copyright by using other people’s text and images without permission.

No advertising

Please refrain from promoting goods and services on the forum. This includes advertising commercial services within your site profile.

If you read any forum post that you feel breaches this code of conduct, please contact a member of the RCC committee. Forum moderators will contact anyone who disregards the code, and bar them if necessary.

We reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis. The action we take may be more lenient or more severe than those listed under each category:

IMPORTANT

Repeatedly violating any area of the RCC Forum Code of Conduct, including the areas detailed above, will often result in permanent banishment from the forums.

This policy is not language-restrictive. Language that falls under this policy will always be subject to the repercussions listed, whether it is inappropriate in English or any other language.

The bottom line is that we want the RCC Forums to be a fun and safe environment for all members. While cycling and posting on these forums, you will encounter hundreds of other members who share different experiences and come from vastly different backgrounds. While certain language and images may not be offensive to you, consider the fact that that same language and images may have a completely different effect on someone else. We’ve done everything we can to make this a great environment – now it’s up to you!

Enjoy the forum!
