Redbridge CC Club Rides:  29th May 2016 – 24th July 2016

Sunday Social Rides

Bronze ride:  45 –  55 miles (occasionally all-day rides up to 65 miles) and will return Redbridge Cycling Centre approximately 12.30 – 13.30. (All-day rides return RCC 16.00)    Approximate Av speed 12 mph.                                                                          Silver rides: vary between 60 – 80 miles.  Approximate Av speed 14 – 16 mph.  There will usually be a long and short silver ride often going to the same café. The short ride is ideal for those wishing to be back at Redbridge by about 1.00 – 1.30pm.                                  Gold ride. This is non-stop and will be around 50 – 60 miles around mid-Essex or East Essex. Approximate Av speed 16 – 18 mph. Return Redbridge Cycling Centre approximately 12.30 – 13.30.

Bronze Ride.  Mountnessing, Francesca’s Coffee Shop  45 miles
Short Silver Ride.  Hanningfield Reservoir, Cafe-on-the-Water  55 miles
Long Silver Ride. Hanningfield Reservoir, Cafe-on-the-Water  65 miles
Gold Ride.  60 mile non-stop through the mid-Essex lanes.

Sunday 5th June    Meet 08.00 to leave 08.15                                                                     Bronze Ride.    Hanningfield Reservoir.  Café-on-the-Water.  55 miles
Short Silver Ride.    Rettendon, BHN  Nurseries.   60 miles                                                   Long Silver Ride.  Maldon, Maldon Deli.    80 miles.                                                                 Gold Ride.      60 – 65 miles non-stop ride around the mid-Essex lanes.

Sunday 12th June    Meet 08.00 to leave 08.15                                                              Long All Day Bronze Ride in Hertfordshire.   Tewin, The Country Bumpkin after 27 miles, Café Bleu, Old Harlow  after 48. Total distance 68 miles.  Arrive back RCC approx. 4.00 pm.                                                                                                                                    Short Bronze.  Café Bleu,  Old Harlow.  40 miles.   Meet RCC 11.00  to meet the long bronze ride in Old Harlow. (arrive Cafe Blue approx. 1.00 pm) Arrive back RCC approx. 4.00 pm
Long Silver Ride.  Sawbridgeworth, The Shed, long 75 miles, via Hertfordshire lanes, with optional early morning stop at the Country Bumpkin Tewin.                                                   Short Silver Ride. Sawbridgeworth, The Shed  55 miles via Essex lanes
Gold Ride.  60 – 65 mile non-stop ride around the mid-Essex lanes

Sunday 19th June.  Meet 08.00 to leave 08.15
Bronze ride.   Cammas Hall Fruit Farm.  50 miles.
Short Silver Ride.  Hatfield Forest.  55 miles.
Long Silver.  Hatfield Forest.  70 miles
Gold ride.  50 – 55 miles non-stop ride around the mid-Essex lanes.                            

Sunday 26th June   Meet 09.00 to leave 09.15      
Bronze Ride.  Cooksmill Green, Bake House  50 miles
Short Silver Ride. Cooksmill Green, Bake House  55 miles
Long Silver Ride.  Great Bardfield, The Blue Egg.  80 miles.
Gold ride.  60 – 65 miles non-stop ride around the mid-Essex lanes.

Sunday 3rd July.   Meet 08.00 to leave 08.15.
Bronze Ride.  Thurrock Thameside Nature Park.  45 miles
Short Silver Ride.  Thurrock Thameside Nature Park.  55 miles.
Long Silver Ride.  Thurrock Thameside Nature Park. 66 miles.
 

Sunday 10th July.   Meet 08.00 to leave 08.15.
Bronze ride.  Across the Dengie to Burnham-on-Crouch. Return by train from Burnham-on-Crouch (depart 13.10 or 14.10) to Shenfield and all stations to Stratford.  Group fare to Romford £8.00.   40 miles.
Alternative Bronze Ride. To be announced.
Short Silver Ride.  To be announced.
Long Silver Ride.   Maldon, Malden Deli. 80 miles.
Gold Ride.  60 miles through the mid-Essex lanes.

Sunday 17th July. Meet 08.00 to leave 08.15
Bronze Ride.  Café Bleu, Old Harlow.  40  miles
Short Silver.  Café Bleu, Old Harlow.  50 miles
Long Silver.  Roydon. Roydon Marina.  60 miles.
Gold Ride.  60 miles through the mid-Essex lanes.

Sunday 24th July. Meet 08.00 to leave 08.15.
Bronze Ride.   Eynsford Kent.  35 miles
Long Silver Ride.  Eynsford, Kent  50 miles.
NOTE.  Distances DO NOT INCLUDE 17 miles (8.5 miles each way) RCC to Stratford International station for the high speed suburban train service to Ebbsfleet Internation.  Every 15 minutes, journey time 11 minutes.  £10.86 return (group rate for three or more people travelling.)  Expected return to Stratford International 2pm – 2.30 pm.                     Short Silver Ride.    55 miles mystery ride in Essex.
Gold ride.   60 – 65 miles non-stop around the mid-Essex lanes

NOTE.  All those taking part in rides must have with them the following:  pump, spare inner tube with valve of the correct length, puncture outfit, tyre levers, lightweight tool kit and club membership card.

New Members.  New members with previous experience of group riding are always welcome.  Prior to departure you will need to complete a temporary membership form which will be given to you by the ride leader. This will give you free third party insurance whilst on the ride.  After three rides you will be required to join the club.  IMPORTANT. We advise anyone with little or no experience of group cycling to take part in one of our monthly Saturday Introductory rides before you go on a Sunday Club ride.  Also, the ride leader may wish to cycle one lap of the cycling circuit with new members to ascertain their fitness and experience of group riding before commencing a Sunday ride.

Saturday Training Rides.                                                                                                   40 mile training rides are held every Saturday Morning, leaving 09.30 from the Cycling Centre. The route is always the same:  Abridge – Toot Hill – Moreton – Fyfield – Willingale – Walls Green – Pigstye Green – Norton Heath – Nine Ashes – Kelvedon Hatch – Navestock – Shonks Mill – Stapleford Abbots – Lamborne End.  NOTE, these are training rides where, unlike Sunday social rides, we don’t wait for stragglers.

Wednesday Rides                                                                                                           These leave Redbridge Cycling Centre 09.30. Approximately 40 – 50 miles. Various routes. Contact Paul O’Kelly or Frank Smartt on membership@redbridgecyclingclub.co.uk by the previous Tuesday evening so either can advise the ride leader of the number of people turning up.

    You are very welcome to join us on our next introductory ride, which has now been put back to August 18th. The average speed will be around 12 – 13 mph and we wont leave anyone behind.
